The training intent is to demonstrate the steps in using a specific function in ROSS. Not every function is covered.

The Lesson Topics column contains the list of available topics.

 

How to Use Lesson Topics

Training Modes

There are four training modes

See It – Watch a mini movie of the steps for the particular ROSS function.
Try It – Try your hand at completing the topic just as you saw it in the See It mode.
Know It – Test yourself. Currently for your benefit only. Results are not tracked.
Do It
– Open a topic on top of the live ROSS application and use it in the help mode.

Available Topics

Block Numbering
Designate a block of request numbers for a specific uses.

Reports

  • Running Standard Reports.

ROSS Overview
A quick look at the basics: creating a new incident; creating and filling a new request; demobing resource from an incident: statusing a resource.

Tactical Aviation

  • Assign and Release on the Tactical Aviation Resources tab.

Web Status
The web status modules cover both creating an account for web status and statusing resources on the web.

  • OH Web Status Access
    Individual statuses them selves on the web.
  • Government Rep Web Access
    Government Rep statuses resources based on their home unit.
  • Vendor Rep Web Access
    Vendor representative statuses all resources they have on contract.
  • Supervisor Web Status
    Supervisor statuses the overhead they supervise.
        

 

OnDemand Tutorial

We suggest you take the software tutorial prior to starting the training.

To access the tutorial Click Help and select your choice.
Starting a Lesson

Once in OnDemand search for a topic or select a topic from the dropdown menu;

To Search for the topic, highlight the Search radio button and enter the desired topic, then click on  

To pick a topic from the dropdown menu, highlight the All radio button and click on the arrow, then select a topic from the menu

To expand the lesson module and see available topics, Click the + next to the Module name and then the + next to the Lesson name .

          

After you have selected a topic, choose the player mode of your choice (See It, Try It, Know It, Do It).
